We have proven leadership on Capacity Building, Teaching, Consulting and Research, and those are the areas that we are making an impact on. We will send our message across through outreach papers, flyers, courses and lectures intended to create awareness in the community in regards to biodiversity conservation, understanding the effect of invasive species, importance of urban ecosystems and urban species, role of trees to capture carbon in the current context of climate change, as well as the new paradigm of greener cities, and an ecofriendly pavement for our future development as a society.

Gaia Learning will also provide newly arrived students with financial aid for tuition and books, prioritizing students with a vocation for STEM topics, specially Science. Students will be USA immigrants holding resident’s status and/or be in the process of obtaining the residency of the State of Florida. Newly arrived college/university age students have a difficult time meeting the Florida residency requirements to pay state tuition in public colleges and universities. Many of these students must wait anywhere between one and three years before they can begin to study at a public university because of residency requirements. Funding for the group will be used to cover tuition and books for these students and will be provided until they are able to obtain a federal, state or private scholarship that will cover the expenses for the remainder of their college/university schooling. Students will receive help applying for other federal, state and private scholarships once they have established residency in the State of Florida.

Gaia Learning will also provide help to employment seeking people, guidance, filling up applications of different type in government websites, and others, in order to get social benefits, and aid. We will provide information about community networks providing support like non-profits, churches, etc. Immigrants frequently require help to translate and validate foreign-issued diplomas.
